A Roof Restored, A Life Reclaimed: Help Us Finish What We Started

For five long months, a 92-year-old man has lived beneath a broken sky.

Since Hurricane Melissa tore through his small Jamaican home in October 2026, the place he once called safe has been anything but. The roof—his only shield from the elements—was ripped apart, leaving him exposed to relentless rain, scorching sun, and the quiet dangers that creep in when a home is left vulnerable.

He lives with dementia. Some days, he doesn’t understand why the rain falls inside his home. Some nights, he wakes confused, surrounded not by comfort, but by fear.

Water drips steadily into the rooms where memories once lived. The walls are damp. The floors are unsafe. And among the ruins, nature has crept in—scorpions hiding in corners, red ants crawling across surfaces, wasps nesting where laughter once echoed.

Then, hope arrived.

The Jamaican Rebuild Mission Builders stepped in with compassion, urgency, and heart. They saw not just a damaged structure—but a human being in need of dignity.

They worked tirelessly to replace the roof—the most critical step in restoring his home. For the first time in months, rain no longer falls directly onto his bed. For the first time, there is a sense of protection.

And for the first time in a long while, there is hope.

But the work is not finished.

The roof was only the beginning.

The walls still need plastering to seal out moisture and pests. The doors and windows—rotted and broken—must be replaced to restore security and safety. The home still stands fragile, incomplete… not yet a place where he can truly live with comfort and dignity.

We have come this far—but we cannot stop now.

This is where you come in.

We are asking for your help to complete this transformation.

Your donation will go directly toward:

  • Finishing the plastering of the home

  • Replacing unsafe, rotting doors and windows

  • Making the space secure, clean, and livable once again

Every contribution—no matter the size—brings us closer to giving this elderly man something so simple, yet so powerful:

A home he can feel safe in.

Imagine…

A quiet evening where rain taps gently on a solid roof—not through it.A room free from insects and fear.A door that closes. A window that lets in light—not danger.

For him, this isn’t just construction.

It’s dignity. It’s comfort. It’s peace in the final chapter of his life.

We cannot undo the storm. But together, we can rebuild what it took away.

Please donate today.Help us finish what we started.Help us give him back his home.

Because after 92 years… he deserves nothing less.
